Which Shoei color matches the 919 flat black?

They have three or four varieties of flat black, anyone know if one matches the 02 919 particularly well? The wife and I are dedicating part of our tax refund to new helmets.

This is not meant to discourage your purchase but keep in mind black will absorb the sun's rays a lot more than a light color.

I have the flat black HJC, and Mike is right. Here in Texas, that helmet gets awfully hot in the summer...

How right you are - I have a solid white helmet for hot days. Ever notice you never see black helmets in Florida?

Except if you're actually moving on your bike, rather than sitting still, the wind takes care of surface heat no problem. I already have a black Nolan, and have no particular complaints about heat.

Anyone actually know which color matches?

I only see one flat black color:

http://www.shoei-helmets.com/road/helmets_road.aspx?h=3

There is this color too, which Shoei lists as black. To me that would mean gloss black but in the picture it looks like semi-flat black which I think would match the 919 good. It is impossible to tell without seeing the helmet in person.

And then there is this color which might match best of all due to the metalic:

Is there a dealer that you could look at the helmets in person? I think that would be the only way to tell.

Yeah, I wonder what that metallic black looks like in person... The other one I was wondering about was anthracite, but in those pictures it looks like more of a grey. I don't know any shops around here that stock Shoei helmets, there's one that has a few Arais, otherwise they're all loaded up with HJCs. Less of a stock risk to have a bunch of $90 helmets on the shelves than $300+ ones that people are going to be more picky about.

I'm taken that Shoei rf-1000 in flat black and their "Badge" model out to the parking lot to hold it up next to my bike, even though they both had a black matte finish neither looked right.

They didn't have the metallic one or the black one in stock.

I ended up going with a black red and white one that was on sale...

Mike, I don't believe CBRXX-RC51 is going to appreciate you showing off his helmet...
