water proofing

Ok quick question. I got on of the icon legion jackets and was wondering if the spray on water proofer from walmart in the camping section would hurt the leather or not. It says its for leather and everything else but am causious of spraying it on an expensive jacket.

theres no such thing as stupid questions only stupid people

When you pay the big bucks you are allowed to question the supplier/maufacturer. Let us know what they recommend.

I use many sprays and 'rub-ons on boots and shoes but an expensive leather jacket using a walmart camping spray? Scares me.

What brand jacket do you have? I bet they will tell you what works good for care of the jacket.

If it happens to be Dainese, they give whole kits for cleaning, conditioning, and protecting with their jackets/suits.

Spray on protection is good...for me to poop on.

You can usually find this stuff in good camping/outdoors retailers. Aerostich sells it as well, I believe. I have used it with very good success.

If anyone should know how to waterproof leather, its the Brits. The Nikwax gets a big thumbs up from the long mile ADV riders as well.
