Carbon would be awesome due to low weight, but I think I prefer having something with a little more flex in it. I know, I know...the guts of the helmet are supposed to dampen the impact force, but I still don't like the thought of a completely rigid helmet.

It sure is sexy, though

i picked up the other CF helmet that was out... the Vemar. wasn't impressed with it. to me, it actually flexed way too much.

Thanks for the info. Well, I'm not sure what to get. It's time for a new helmet of somekind. My only requirement is yellow somewhere on the helmet. I have an HJC CL-14 now. Might just get another one with yellow. Was looking at some of the ICON helmets too. To many choices out there....

Should probably go with higher end helmet than my 150 dollar HJC....Don't have any complaints with it though. Although I have never put on a high dollar one before....

And suggestions would be great......

Don't forget KBC. I love my Force-RR, it is "almost" as comfy as my Arai was, but definately louder. I wear earplugs all the time now anyways, so it doesn't bother me.

Surprising as this may sound - my all time favourite helmet now is my KBC -VR2 Daytona. I am about to get a second. I actually sold my two Arai Corsairs in favour of this. I found it to be more comfortable and cleaner inside - something about the material they use.

Also, don't worry to much about flex in the C/F helmet, there is enough to make it worthy.

I second the nomination for the VR-2. I liked mine so much I got two so the lady could wear one. They fit snug, but not painfully tight, the fit and finish is pretty good considering how cheap you can get them for, and they look pretty cool, too. The only downside I've found is that they tend to fog pretty badly in colder weather, which is a pain for me since I ride all year.

went to another dealer yesterday, ended up buying another cl-14 HJC helmet. Only this one is yellow and was 40% off. So I bought that plus a mirrored shield. Still only ran me 130. I thought I better not pass that up. They did have a Carbon fiber helmet in there though. they didn't want to budge on their 419 price though....Bastards, I would have got that if they would have dealed. It would have been worth dealing with the wife after that purchase...lol.

Congrats on the helmet - any helmet is better than nothing. As we all know.

BOCK - Get a Foggy mask for your VR-2's, I promise you will never get another helmet after that. I actually gave up two Arai's for my KBC's.
