On a whim

I was at Cycle Gear on Saturday and picked one of these up on a whim

http://www.cyclegear.com/spgm.cfm?L1...-STRK-BLK-XS_G

The only reason being that Webbike World gave it an outstanding review.

I know that the name is not the same but the helmet is. It is a rebadging by CycleGear as their own brand kinda like the Frank Thomas gear. Webbike also gave it their prodcut of the year award of which I think carries some weight.

The helmet itself is of a quality that I would easily place helmet's in the $300 range, the fit and finish are excellent as is the comfort. When comparing it with HJC's, KBC's, Scorpions, and Sharks on the same shelf it actually surpassed most of them in many ways.

I'm looking forward to some real world testing when riding season comes around and I'll decide if it needs to sit on the shelf with the 10 other helmets or if possibly it could become <<GASP>> my helmet of choice. I'm looking forward to finding out if a helmet made in Korea that costs only $130 is as good as some of my $350+ lids that I've purchased over time.

VERY light. I quite impressed with how it measured up to other lightweights such as the Shoei's there.

Dude....I thought my head was normal since most of my helmets are in the Large and one or 2 in the XL range but I had to go with XXL on this one due to temple preasure with the XL

A-Stars have some of the most comfortable boots I've ever worn. Right out of the box they're nice.

I actually liked them better than the pair of Dainese I was originally looking at. I've owned boat loads of MX A-Stars over the years and have always liked them.

Yep, only helmets that I own that are not Snell are a couple modulars.
