new helmet?

ok... getting taxes back and mary said i can get a new helmet!!!!!!!!

i am leaning towards either a shark... or a bell..... and gave more than a passing look at the gmax...

i don't wanna spend over 200 bucks...

i need something sized large...

i want either black... or red to kinda sorta match the bike..

i have looked at motorcyclecloseouts.com.. and found a couple of possibles...

ya'll batter up and toss some advice...

it would be nice if the shields didnt cost out the ass like shoei does because i have to buy the mirrored blue ones because of the light sensitive thing....

ripper... i love that helmet but it doesnt match my jacket (she said i can't buy a new jacket yet) and it clashes with the bikes colors... but that was a smoking deal...

If they made a full-face helmet...I'd get the spiked one.

Barton,

The Shark RSR2 is an AWESOME helmet. Wearing it feels like how I imagine it would feel to sleep in Buckingham Palace... or something. However, the shields are pricey ($65 - 70). In fact, everything about that helmet is way expensive, but you can find some awesome deals on it if you look around.

The Bell Star is what I'm using now, and I really like it. It fits perfectly (I'm a large). It also comes with a second pair of cheek pads that are more firm for a "race" fit. Also, the bag is far better than any other I've seen. In addition, the shields aren't too bad ($40ish). It also vents a TON of air. However, it isn't a quiet helmet. At a price of $199 at motorcyclecloseouts.com I don't think it can be beat.

Good luck!

I tried the corsair and the profile both put pressure on my forehead and I have a tuff time with paying 600$ for a helmet when I can find a comfortable snell approved helmet for a fraction of the price.

I really went there to try on the shark and talk myself into buying rippers helmet. But it KILLED my ears.

First priority is it has to fit. Shark's RSR2 is the most excellent design I've ever seen, but admit it doesn't have a couch comfy fit. Congrats on your new lid!

I just ordered a Bell Star for my 22 1/4" dome. Hope this one fits. But I had the same problem, Reps say they run big so I ordered a small again I sure hope I love this one but at least I can return it for a med. if I must! I'll post a report when I get it. By the way; Gmax is a very good helmet for the money. Clearest shield I have ever seen. It's made for more of a round head.
