Joe Rocket leather jacket sizing questions

Some I wanna get some new leathers and I'm looking Joe Rocket. However I've never been good at figuring out sizing. I'll admit it, I'm fat, I gotta gut. That being said I'm also 6'3" and I think I need a size 50 chest which gives me an extra inch in the arms. However I am torn between 50 and 52. There sizing states that a 50 has a waist of 44 and a 52 is 46. This is the only measurement in question. Does the jacket taper off and the actual waist band is 44 or is it 44 like around the midsection? My actual measurements are 48 chest 46 gut 40 waist 36 arm which is why I think 50 maybe be too small. I ask here because I plan on scoring a deal online where returns aren't easy and there is no shop in town that carries these jackets let alone the bigger sizes. Any thoughts? Other then do some sit ups... I know, I get it.

Other than situps I'd say ride a bike or maybe a treadmill?

For the jacket, you won't know until you try it on. The waists are adjustable so you'll have some wiggle room there. You HAVE to try it on first.

There is no way for me to try one on. I've been to all the shops/stealerships and they don't stock them. I don't know anyone that would have one either.

JR is rediculous small in my experience. I am like a 44 sport coat. My JR jacket is a 52 I think & not big on me AT ALL. WIth the removeable liner in its all I can do to fit a sweathsirt on with it.

Hmmm... has anyone returned/exchanged anything with NewEnough? Might be worth a few more dollars if I can exchange it for a different size. I'm like a 52 sport coat. I think. I'm shaped like a turd...

I have. Just make sure they have in stock the sizes that you think you might want. Call them and talk to them about exchanging for sizing and then you'll probably just have to pay a little extra shipping if you don't get it right the first time.

you can tighten the waist down a fair amount, I would try the bigger of the two first. I bought mine one size bigger than I normally wear, being in MN I needed room for warm clothes under it as well. I have no problem with the fit in the middle of summer when I don't have the liner in it either. The one your looking at probably has them but I would definately get one with the tightening straps on the arms, between that and the adjustable waist I can adjust it to fit no matter what I'm wearing under it.

I just got home & checked--its a 50--not a 52 to fit a size 44 but I have not worn a suit in awhile.

Just so you are aware, the stories about JR jackets blowing out at the seams during an accident are completly true... I have/had the same jacket took a spill at about 45 mph and atleast 4 of the seams burst out... now I will give it the credit that the only rash on my uper body was where the back road up a little it. So translate that how you will. I do give it a lot of credit, but I wish the seams were a little stronger, I guess is what I'm saying.

Btw the other thing is the jacket will natually stretch outas you wear it.

Ended up exchange a 52 for a 50 and fits great. Love the amount of air flow.
