Joe Rocket

I recently bought a Joe Rocket Honda Mesh Jacket with armor. I've got a question, and I may have the answer, but, wanted to know the real rest of the story.
On the inside back of the jacket is an 8" zipper right about the belt line. Is this to zip to a pair of pants? Or what is it for??? I unzipped and removed the liner, but, this one is all by itself.

Yup, and a good tailor can make that jacket zip into just about any riding pants you already own. Good idea to zip 'em together. Stops gear from riding up (or down!) on a getoff. Might even save you some skin some day.

Also you can use it to attach your superhero cape to your jacket, keeps it from billowing out to much behind you while fitting crime at high speeds

??

Thanks for the replies. The only thing that has me bothered with all the velcro on the jacket and boots is:
If I ever trip and fall in the living room, I'll be stuck to the carpet for ever. I hope that never happens while my wife is visiting her sister.
