ICON Motorhead

I picked up the ICON Motorhead in all black about 3 weeks ago. Due to all the rain in Indiana it took me a while to get a riding impression. My initial impression on getting the jacket were that it is well made. The zip-out liner is easy to take out and put back in. The open neck is a little airish in chilly weather but the liner keeps out most wind. Mid 70's are the highest temp I have ridden in so far and without the liner I had all the vents shut so I think that it will have plenty of airflow. I also have a textile jacket for high temps.

I got the all black model to avoid the bling problem with ICON.

Post up a pic so we can see which model jacket you're talking about.

Here is a pic of the front. The rear has two vents that are about 8 inches long.

So that didn't work like I thought it would. I will attempt to learn how to post a pic tomorrow when I have high speed internet instead of the dial-up I am using right now.

Got the same jacket in red/black really good in all sorts of weather. I like the fact its perforated only under the arms so it keeps water out.

I almost got the red/black but I really liked the all black. I wish that the sleeves had zippered vents instead of the perforation. Although I am sure that it will help when the temperature starts to rise.

I have seen some negativity on here about ICON but I really like this jacket and I have a pair of the Timax pants as well.

I got the Icon Daytona Stealth (all black) similar to that one. I agree on the venting and I wish it had a few more interior pockets as well. I do not think I will be wearing it when the temp gets over 70. Don't know I will have to see.

I was going to get the Daytona Stealth but it was back ordered at the site I went to so I just switched to the Motorhead.

i've got a motorhead, i love it. i rode a few days with the liner in while it was about 75 degrees out and didn't sweat all that bad even with the vents shut. i agree that the collarless neck does leave some area open when it gets chilly outside but even when it was about 50 degrees up here in PA the jacket was comfortable for a good 30 mile ride. I've worn it a few times this summer when the temperatures were approaching 90 and will say that as long as you have the vents open and you're moving... you won't mind it, but as soon as you stop you may as well unzip the front a bit.

I went ahead and bought one, all black, with my IRS rebate. I like it.
Too bad it's too hot to wear right now. A very well made jacket. Heavy too, especially with the liner in. Should be very nice in the cooler fall weather.

What I like most about those jackets is the elongated back so that your lower back isn't showing when leaned over.

+1, always a good feature in a riding jacket. Don't want people looking at your butt crack! LOL!

I just got the Icon arc mesh, with leather on the back of the arms and on the shoulders. I like it alot ,even with the all black it is cool and comfortable on the 90 deg. days.

The only thing that I would really change is I would like zippered vents in the sleeves instead of the perforation. I hate having to have the liner in for cool mornings only to have to take it out in the afternoon. I would like to be able to just zip all the vents shut and go.

I got an Icon Daytona Flattrack jacket a while back, and love it. One thing I noticed tho (not a complaint) sewn into the inside breast pocket was a St. Christopher's medal on a little leather lanyard. There seem to be all sorts of little things like this on their jackets. Kinda neat.

Icon puts a St. Christopher's medal in all of their jackets. I think it is a nice touch.
