Icon legion jacket

ok here it goes

http://www.buymoto.com/PhotoGallery....=2#largerphoto

what do ya guys think of this jacket. one of the reasons I like it is because of the dragon pics on it (i am a big fan of dragons tats and all). What do ya all think about this, ya know durabillity and everything else. I dont want a jacket just for looks I also need it to save my precious skin just incase.

I'll throw this out for the hell of it. I've been on a tear to replace gear since I've lost a bunch of weight. I've been active on a bunch of boards since lazst Fall asking about lots of different brands in preparation to have new gear for this season. The one consistent piece of feedback I've received is to steer clear of Icon. Failure rates in getoffs, inferior fit and finish, stitching and zipper problems seem to be common. Caveat emptor.

I'm with Ken on this. I wouldn't wear Icon if it was given to me.

Good lord ! I own an Icon Burner Jacket and it is great. The fit and finish is fantastic. It is made from very thick high quality leather, the zippers have never failed, nice armor inserts. It is much nicer than the Joe Rocket and Technic stuff I have owned. I just bought my wife a Icon Kitty Jacket and have been just as impressed. My brother is big into the stunt scene and has witnessed many get offs of all kinds with Icon and has not seen any failures or complaints. Try this website http://www.metricbikes-superstore.com/icon35.php These are absolutely the best Icon rates I have found. My wifes jacket was $400 everywhere else and was $290 with free shipping through them. These comments have been from an owner of Icon and a firm believer in it. I always listen to people that have had direct experience with a product. I would say go for it.

I have to wonder how much of the comments we hear on gear failure is myth and deception... perhaps stirred up by the competition every now and then... i don't know. But i track tested a Joe Rocket 2 peice leather set on the track last summer at 100+ and not a single failure. Maybe i was lucky i don't know, but i'm still wearing my 2 peice Joe Rocket get up.

I have had 50 mph get offs on my Xr50 with a crappy Ebay two piece and have had no problems. I wouldn't want to go any faster on my butt in that suit though.

I have heard some bad reports on Icon gear especially their helmets. My Merc jacket is pretty decent though. I would stick with the simpler products like the jackets and pants and get my more complex gear like helmets and gloves from other more well known manufacturers. ICON does a great job of marketing and making gear I like and also their leather jackets are a good deal pricewise.
I have a Merc (Plain black textile) Alpinstars gloves and a HJC AC12 carbon helmet. The Merc leather jacket looks tempting.

I've got the mesh jacket that seems to have been their first big seller and it's stood up to about 3 years of use now with no visible wear.

The only crash was on a gravel road but it did not disintigrate.

Icon is all image... Which if thats what you want, then jump on it. If you are concerned about safety, then buy something else!
