Talking ICON DOMAIN 2

I HAVE THE ICON DOMAIN 2 AND I LOVE IT!!! IT HAS VENTS THAT KEEP MY HEAD COOL AT LOW AND HIGH SPEED. THE LITTLE AIR FOIL IN THE BACK IS NOT JUST FOR STABILITY IT IS ALLSO CREATS TURBLANCE TO MAKE THE EXHAUST VENTS PULL AIR OUT. IN 29 PALMS WERE TEMP IS OVER 100 90% OF THE TIME YOU NEED LOTS OF GOOD VENTS. THE STYLTING IS KICK ASS TO!!!

Icon has not been around very long. I had one ordered, but it got backordered so I went ahead and got an ARAI, but Icon would be my #2 choice. It just wasn't as good as the ARAI. I bought my Carr Freedom Arai for 400 and it retails for 600. Glad you found a lid you like. You should do a write up on it since few people here use them. Might make others check it out.

Claymore on order before. Which Domain 2 did you get?

Please turn your caps lock OFF. My eyes and the other members will thank you.

I have no personal experience with Icon helmets. I'm sure someone here does and they will come along to add comments. I personally prefer Shoei, Arai and KBC, but that's because they fit my head best, offer the best features and light weight.

I don't particularly like the Icon products that I see on shelves. They seem to be aimed at hitting a price point based on aesthetic appeal and not function.

One thing that turned me off of Icon was the lack of a removable liner. Like the looks though.

I've got an Icon Mainframe Subhuman and I love it too. (I used to have Shoei helmets and loved them too.) It is very comfortable and last year saved my noggin' so I got another one. I also have an Icon Timax textile jacket for warm days that I like, as well as an Icon leather Motorhead jacket I just got and haven't had time to break in yet. I have been very happy with my Icon gear.

good info, my caps lock was on because that is how marines email and wright. i have the DOMAIN 2 SERPECANT it is the slayer got a link here: http://rideicon.com/product_details....y=1660&id=6930 it has a removable liner and it is relitivly light. there are lighter but the style and the fit and the vents all make it worth alot more to me then just the fact that is is not as light weight as some of the others. The marines are keeping me in the stumps and i would like to get out of 29 but i wont for a while. yes its hot but i do get to ride all year round! so thats a big plus!! and thank you gary i am very happy with my icon gear as well.

Duly noted, but you are not addressing just Marines here. We also have Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and civilians both active duty and retired. Many thanks for your service and thanks for turning the caps lock off.

Webbikeworld gave the Icon Airframe helmet a very good review, so it seems you have made a good choice. Stick with it, and ride safe.

Had an icon mainframe i believe, was really comfy but was a bit too small... i liked the vents in it.. visor didn't fog too much

IMO

Pros :
- Good price/quality value
- Good looks
- Comfy
- Good ventilation
- Weight is decent

Cons :
- No removable liner
- bit noisier than an Arai at high speed

What you think about the breath gaurds they are putting in a lot of the helmets now? i remove mine first thing... don't really find them all that useful. The sheild is coated with antifog so no problems there... just seems to get in the way when i want to glance at the instrument cluster.
