Going the 2pc route

So I bought the Icon Automag leather jacket and I LOVE it. As long as I can tolerate the heat this summer, it's on. No more mesh if I can avoid it.

But the matching pants by Icon are, well, you know......

I'm eyeing the Joe Rocket pro street pants. I don't like that the whole get-up will be hard to see in the dark so I gotta plan around or through that somehow.

Anyone else going the two-piece way ? What's been your experience ?

All I can say is, make sure the zippers are compatible.

An 8 inch zipper on an ICON jacket might not be the same tooth size as an 8 inch zipper on Joe Rocket pants... maybe it is, idunno.

FWIW: I've had a MotoGP Apex jacket for a few years now, last year I picked up some SHIFT Havoc pants... not compatible.

My jacket has extra material so I can "modify" it to fit other pants. If the pants have their own zipper, then I can pick the better of the two.

I almost always wear a 2 piece on the street. It is much better for making stops in. You can take off the jacket and relax. With a set of full leathers on all you can really do is half climb out of the sleeves, and you look like a tool walking around in public like that.

Unless you are getting a stich or the olympia or fieldsheer one piece suits that are made for commuting, a separate pants/jacket combo is much easier for the street. Just make sure they zip together.

After many years and many dreams I have realized my goal of riding in all 50 states!

Now the rest of the world!

Every now and then go away and have a little relaxation. To remain constantly at work will diminish your judgment. --Leonardo Da Vinci
