Gaerne Waterproof Boot

Anyone here able to get these at a better price? I really like Gaerne boots of all styles. They have always fit my wide peds the best.

After my last long rides that involved alot of rain for hours and hundreds of miles ... I want and need waterproof.

Thanks for the lead. I've got obese feet and am in the market for boots as well. How does their fit around the calf compare to others?

BTW, I have 0 experiance with over-the-ankle boots so please keep that in mind.

I'm not overly happy with my Gaerne Panorama they were great at first no leaking good feel on pegs and grip of road while stopped even on wet pavement! But after only 4-6 months they are soaking my feet.

Is it bad stitching or penetrating the actual material(hard imagine but possible I guess)?

I guess it could be a bit of both... the top of the toe area is scuffed by the shifter but I wouldn't think it would be bad enough to cause it to leak but they do hold out the rain for about 20-30 mins. to be fair to the boot. My ride is now longer than that so maybe they leaked the whole time of ownership?... Not sure

Found this link and thought it was an interesting read!

Is the water running down your legs or comming from the top of the boots?

Try a shifter cover to prevent the scratching of the boots material.

AJ, thanks for the feedback, but I have read nothing that says the Gaerne Panorama is "waterproof". It says that they offer Gaerne's "dry-tech" to help keep feet dry. I take that as it helps let the boot breathe so your feet don't get wet from sweat.

I have been looking at boot looks hardy enough for some serious abuse at a good price that specifically says "waterproof".

No problem, I bet they changed their story on them after I wrote them a couple times about it, but here is a picture of them claiming they are water proof.

You misunderstood the tag. Only the tag is waterproof ...

I'm not getting the G-RT's, I guess it's the new G-King. They're on their way.

Gaerne G.King

These just came in ...

Almost a perfect fit. Extremely comfortable. Nice cushy insole. Nicely lined interior. Says waterproof and has "Wind-Tex". Can't wait to try them

Curious what changed your mind. I have been thinking about the G-RT from the same place you found them. I was wondering what led you to changing your mind. I don't see the ones you bought on Motorcycle Closeouts so I assume you got them somewhere else. I have Gaerne off-raod boots and they make good stuff which is why I thought about a pair for the street.

I may still get the G-RT's. Someone told me these were the "newer" model and I went with them. I didn't check them out first. You are correct, I got them somewhere else. Let's see what happens? I do like the looks of the G-RT better.

Just walking around in them ... they are quite comfy.
