Wow... those are good prices... I just got a Shoei X11 to replace my EXO-1000. At that price, I might buy one to have an extra!

Well, I picked up a Red RPM one. I have a gloss black now in excellent shape; it might show up in the classifieds if it doesn't sell locally.

Are Scorpions shaped more like Arai or Shoei? Never tried one on and those prices can't be beat for the features I'm sure. The Sublim or SilverRPM looks good

I have an oval shaped head and it fits me good. It's not tight in any areas. I actually think I have a Large helmet, but according to my head size (22.5 inches) I should be wearing a medium.

I ordered a medium. We'll see how it fits.

That's the other thing... I have an XL Shark RSR2 Carbon (great price at STG as well!) and after being broken in it's definitely a bit much on the loose side. Looking at the sizing between the two brands, they look to be on the same scale. How does the inflation system work? Is your Large too lose even with the cheek pads inflated? Don't know if I'll be need a Large or XL (and rely on the inflation for break-in compensation)

I can get it to fit pretty tight with the inflation system. I hardly use it though, more for the freeway as it helps with wind buffeting.

god i wish it was that simple!

had to replace 1 of the base plates, so i went ahead and replaced both sides. on the side with the lever for the visor, a piece on the underside of the base plate was still on the helmet (did not detach along with the baseplate) and the new baseplate has the piece firmly on it, so i went ahead and tried to remove the remaining piece, which only broke (3 times in fact), and had to resort to trying to dig it out with zero luck. took it into a scorpion authorized dealer yesterday and they had no idea how to remove the remaining broken piece so that the new baseplate would snap into place. they mentioned that a scorpion rep would stop by later today and suggested i come back around so-so time to talk with the rep.

fastforward to today: i stopped by this afternoon and the rep hadn't showed. asked the parts guy to track him down and find out if he was still planning on coming to the dealership: he wasnt so the parts guy explained the situation and the rep told him it would be best if i sent it in because scorpion most likely has to take the helmet apart

At $135 I'd be surprised if they just didn't give you a new one. But here's to wishful thinking

I dropped my helmet once (caught it gently with my foot as it was coming down, old soccer reflexes at play) so it didn't hit hard, but it broke the top plastic railing, which is only for show anyways.

Fast forward a month or two, and I tried taking the cheek pads out. Two of the 5 or so plastic mounts broke off inside the helmet, making it impossible to re-secure the pads inside the helmet.

I called Scorpion, they immediately acknowledged that they had a bad batch of plastic on those connectors and offered to fix it if I would send it in.

Fast forward two weeks or so, I get the helmet back in a brand new Scorpion box, and lo and behold, not only is the cheek pad mounts fixed, but they replace the entire top rail with a brand new non-cracked one.

Needless to say, I was very impressed. You shouldn't have any issues with their customer service.

I went down in size this last time, it's more snug, but knowing that it will break in like my last one, I'm ok with it. My last one is a tad on the loose side right now.
