Any site vendors for helmets?

I'm in need of a new lid and I am currently looking at Arai. Any vendors with the hookup?

You'll have to excuse him. He's on California time, doesn't have a bike, logged off right after asking you what you need, probably can't get you what you want, will try to get you to talk about anal votexing, ask you out on a date, then call you RC all night. Other than that he's a pretty good dude.

There is an english challenged hunk of a man from the Miami area that just hooked me up with a helmet and new boots.

I'll have to model the helmet and boots with a nice thong for you all.

I am also in the market for a new helmet and shopping for deals while watching E-Bay. Don't know what you folks can get but I am looking for a Shoei Rf-1000, size Medium, and several of the patterns would work (Camber, Diabolic, or Nerve). I know they go for around $430 a few of the internet sites and have seen new ones go for about $80 less on E-Bay.

Mike - One of my favorite gear vendors is newenough.com. I've had dozens of transactions with them over the last 3-4 years and they never disappoint in price, service, and shipping speed. Check out the graphic RF-1000's here.

I am forbidden to post prices lower than 10% off from retail on any online site but let's just say that I can get you a better price than 430.00, more on the RF-1000 Nerve than the others.

e-mail me or PM if you're still interested.

What is the deal with the constraints on listing prices.? Is this a law, or manufacturer agreement, or what? Seen this several times/places. Kinda goes against free enterprise doesn't it? I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation, I just don't know what it is.

Every Dealer signs an agreement on that and they can stop selling the helmets to you if you don't obey their laws. Arai came up with the NO online sales and after loosing market share, they drop it as quick as they saw the losses. Some people do it (advertising lower than 10% off MSRP) but it is not worth it for us to do so when we can price just as easy via PM or e-mail.

all bets are off when it comes to closeouts or discontinued items though.

Only Magnum P.I. wannabees wear Shoei RF-1000 black helmets

Hey guys - I wasn't aware that some of you had shops or were merchants (aside from WIM's glove project). Didn't mean to step on any toes - sorry! Is there a vendor link or forum in here so that we can network with you guys?

sidenote - RC90 did Arai approving online sales again have anything to do with dropping WPS as a distributor?

What he says is very true. Arai went anal on their distributors and retailers, they pulled helmets from shops that would you would not believe possible.

RC90 ... since you do this as a business, I defer to you for the helmets, etc. If I can be of assistance with this - PM me.

I don't deal with WPS as I can get everything I need from the other 3 major US Distributors but I can probably speculate as to why Arai Dropped them. Like Shoei did before, Arai might want to put all their eggs in one basket instead of having to many Distributors fighting over sales and dropping prices... again, only a speculation on my part.

It is very true that I do this as a business but since my online sales are very limited and I can't pay for advertising, I don't get to much involved. I do this mostly to help a fellow WT member but I'll PM you to see if we can help each other in the future.

There won't be any deviation to an anal vortex in this business though so you might not be at all interested! .

Well, no worries, the only Vortex rides you will get are from Ragdoll.... and maybe CBRXX (Where is he by the way?). But for sure, let's talk one of these days and see what we can do for each other...

Yep, that's me,... Still here, still have the original RC51 as well. I don't usually have a lot of time to post, but I do read sometimes. Lately though I'm working more sane hours (after 5 years of OT).

I had a nice Arai Quantum F in large that I just loved. It fit better than any helmet I have ever owned. I'm not sure of the new shell shapes/sizes, but the quantum II line doesn't appeal to me. None of the designs other than maybe the twisted yellow. So I looked at the top of the line corsair. Also not sure of the shape/size issue.

As per usual, there are no local dealers who carry much, or I would just pick one up here. I did pick up a Corsair in Large, but it seems much tighter than my old Quantum F. I don't remember if my quantum was that tight when I got it and it broke in, or if the shape of the corsair is different. I might be returning the corsair after this weekend. I'm going to slap on the lid for a few hours at home and see how it feels.

If I can't go 10 - 12 hours with it, I don't want it. PM me about pricing for the quantum II line if you guys want. I may pick one up as a back up anyway even if I keep this one, or as a replacement if I don't. Thanks.

One thing with the Arai line is that not all helmets are priced the same so you're going to have be a little more specific on the exact model.

The corsair and Quantum should have the same fit as they were made from the same mold, sans the air ducts but it may be a little different now, it is been a while since I read up on them.

The Arai Americas site is really a good one and you can catch up on the new technology they have implemented since the Quantum F. you should keep a helmet for more than 5 yrs anyways.

You might have just gotten used to the fit of the ole Quantum F and you feel the new Corsair to tight, how long have you had it and how many minutes/hours have you wear it? It should be able to break in on your melon after a good while.

Let me know the specific model and I will gladly shoot you a price.

Well in the quantum II I like the twisted yellow model. In the Corsair I like the shuriken Nakano and the new edwards blue/yellow GP. Let me know what you can do. I also just learned that the corsair is an itermediate oval and the quantum II is a round oval. I don't remember what the quantum F shape was. Anyone?

Ok, so they have changed the Corsair to an Intermidiate Oval. The Quantum F and the RX7-RR4 used to be the same mold, read: Round Oval.

I was able to find the Twisted Yellow on the Quantum II but I can find the Edwards Yellow/blue and the only Nakano's I was able to find were the Nakano-2 Red & Nakano-2 Green. Check this link out.

Where did you see the Corsair helmets that you want to get? They are problably old model and/or closeouts.

Found something about the shapes here:

I tried on some Arai this weekend at the races and loved them. Quantum was my best fit.
