ok i picked up a agv helmet... i cannot decide if i like it or not.... it doesnt feel as "snug" as my arai... it doesnt feel as 'snug" as a cheapy helmet i picked up for chits and giggles..

i was under the impression that AGV were top notch helmets on par with shoei and arai..... maybe i am being too critical... maybe it is a good helmet....

gimme some opinions

Maybe a dumb question but from your comments, is it too big?

Maybe you don't have an AGV shaped head?

My first helmet was an AGV. Very good helmet, even back 10 years ago. I'm sure their build quality hasn't changed much since... probably the designs have though. That helmet was so good, my brother "adopted" it after I decided to get a new one after a few years... Compared to his HJC it's like sticking your head in a couch... I'd get another one for sure, if I could try it on of course, and if it's on sale. I wear a Large in everything except the junk scorpion I had (no offense to those who love their scorpions, I just can't have a helmet that flies apart (well, the rear vent flew off) at 80 just because of a bumpy road), I had a XXL in the scorpion.

Could be head shape, liner density or you just bought a size too big in that brand.

Funny enough I rode around for 27 years wearing helmets that were too big for me.
I guess I was buying them to fit my ego instead of my actual head size...

It never really caused me any real problems, but they would always start to lift up a little when I was at speed on the track I mean it wasn't an issue and I was none the wiser until I dropped from a medium to a small 2 seasons ago. Now the helmet feels like it is just part of me rather than something I have to be mindful of.

I've sampled many of the brands too over the years from Vemar to Arai and have learned that just because it is expensive doesn't mean it protects any better. Graphics & vent levers etc might be made better, but protection & fit many times are equal & even better on some cheaper model helmets.

My main two helmets currently are the low end SHOEI TZ-R & the Scorpion EXO700

Years ago when I was going through my divorce I refused to give up the china cabinet & instead starting putting my helmets in it just to piss of the wife

That shot of the china cabinet is priceless.

How do you like the EXO-700? I've been looking at them and the 1000s. Anyone compare the two?

I really like the EXO-700... Got it super cheap from sportbiketrackgear. It feels plush on the inside, little bit noisy, but only a problem is you are looking for something to bitch about & I don't wear earplugs either... Shield is extremely easy to change very similar to the Shark stuff in both quality & fit in my opinion.

You bought the RC51xx model. You can exchange it for a standard model.

I have an AVG and like it fine, but wish it had more cheek padding. I've tried a medium and it was better (a little tight). They do seem to run larger, or maybe it's lack of proper cheek padding.

Two wheelin for the feelin.

Thank you mr. spellcheck. Maybe you should apply to Microsoft, you could be the next little clippy guy.

*ding, Mr. Barton says you you are a worlthless use of water and should take a map gas canister and puncture it while smoking a cigarette to incinerate your useless self. Thank you for using Bartonsoft.

I could care less what Rossi wears, Elder wears the helmet below however. That's a real trendsetter.
