Yet another noob...

Great to see a forum here with a ton of different riding styles represented. I'm a 33 year old Canadian resident and on the hunt to get back on the road. Have always owned bikes (Passport 70, GL 650, 250 rebel, cbx250, fzr 600, yzf 600, Yamaha R1).

Been out of the game for about 4 years and aching to get back in it. For some reason I have a few bikes that I can't seem to get out of my head. I used to be a fairly decent sport bike rider (a few weeks spend on the track) but I'm really not interested in track anymore ($$$) but I still love the power. That being said, I'm also not looking to spend all day hunched over in the race position LOL

I can't seem to get the RC51 out of my head. I look around and always seem to be drawn to that bike..The V-Twin, the styling (the history)....Awesome. I do however think I should look at something a bit more practical for everyday riding. I like the 919, VTR 1000 and the VFR 800. I'm pretty much sold on Honda so I may take the plunge with one of the 3 aforementioned.

Stoked to see so many discussions about all the the bikes I'm intereted in. Lots of info in the "search" section so I'll be cruising through previous threads in an attempt to help me unclutter my mind.

Unless someone right now wants to tell me the RC51 is "the most comfortable bike they have ever ridden" then I can stop the hunt right now

Glad to have found this forum and I hope to learn lots about riding again.

Cheers all and thanks in advance.
Tad

Welcome Tad. A couple bikes you like are EOL'd, so you could get a screaming deal on them. Be patient and find the one that serves your needs best. I seriously considered your options too and am still very happy I voted for the 9r.

Don't let the guy that loves working on his Italian bike every awake minute scare you from buying the best ride on the planet.

Did you see the movie about the frat club called "animal house"?
This is it in cyberspace.

I don't work on it every waking minute. Usually i'm trying to keep it clean from all the 919's it eats as roadkill.

Yeah that 919 juice must be tough to clean out of the stylish crevices!

The issue with the new colours are they remind me TOO much of the old interceptor (or inter-chicken as they are affectionately known around these parts)
that I'm not too fond of.....LOL

I thought that bike had a good reputation. It seems to me, that it was the weapon of choice in the late 80's.

Welcome aboard Dafuzz!

What a joy to be motorcycle shopping! You know, it's all about the journey, not the destination bla bla bla.....

You're just going to need to take some test rides and go with what grabs ya.

SO many good bikes out there to choose from. These really ARE the good old days.

Choose wisely and no regrets.

I plan to die young, as late as possible.
