Yet another 919 owner!

Hey guys, Been checking out this forum for a few days and decided to sign up. I am currently a member of three other vehicle related forums and have been for about 6 years. I'm from New York state and like to get out on my bike as often as possible.

I bought my 919 brand new in 2007 around the end of March or the beginning of April. Trailered it home in a snow storm haha.

Anyway I've done a lot of cosmetic stuff to it, mostly small details that make a big difference. I get compliments all the time from people. I have also performed a slight baffleectomy. Other than that she's mostly stock.

I absolutely love this bike and don't think I'll ever be happy with anything else, it just performs well all around which suits my riding needs perfectly. I'll try to toss up some pics here in a minute.

~Will

Hi there!

I've always liked the red 9ers, but I'd never give up my gunmetal grey.

New York, huh? I'm from Wisco. How you liking our old quarterback so far?

Hey!
The second pic looks like there's a "log cabin" in the background. Makes me hungry for pancakes.

I plan to die young, as late as possible.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!

Duece:
I originally wanted a black or dark gray but it just wasn't offered anymore So I got the red. I have grown to love it. I feel it is the perfect compliment to all the gunmetal and flat black pieces I've added. Only a few more silver bits to go haha. As far as the quarterback, call me crazy but i've never been able to get into watching football.

mdtoney:
thanks, I can't believe It took me so long to sign up and stop trolling haha. Good luck with yours!

semi_gray:
haha yeah, these pics were taken last summer while vacationing up at Lake george. We rented that cabin for the week right on the lake. I didn't get any pancakes but I had plenty of fresh grilled largemouth bass:001_smile:, and had a blast zipping around the lake on my bike.

Ken:
Thanks. I live down in Rockland county just north of NYC. However I spend alot of time up in central NY in the Cooperstown area where most of my family lives.

Maryland mike:
Thanks! I hated all the chrome and light gray parts that were stock.

+1 love the blacked out pipes - some nice Jet-Hot black on the headers would be a nice touch too!

Will, I travel east a couple times a year on the bike, usually to go to the Rhinebeck Air Show and Lake George with the wife. Was down in Cooperstown and Cobleskill earlier this year to meet up with some ST friends. Love it down there!

Blacked out pipes are definitely hot! Though I can't bring myself to paint mine while they are in such great condition. Maybe if they get scratched someday I'll think about it, but I sure hope they don't collect any unwanted scratches either.

Will these guys will lead you - right down and into the gutter.

you are there check out the things you need to know about your 919. For example; locktite on the shifter lever bolt. I read and didn't listen - my lever has roadrash.

I am blacking out the engine covers and the grab bar this winter on my smoke colored bike...

Enjoy WT

Hello and welcome. The bike looks good and what mirrors are those?

Hey guys once again thanks for the welcome, and the compliments, and the tips.

Oh and my mirrors are just some generic e-bay ones I picked up for 20 bucks or so, they are my second set (broke one once in an unloading accident!). they are cheap but they get the job done. I think they look way better than those stock ones. The stock ones reminded me of something you'd flip burgers with haha.
