Twice Bitten. . GG

Just wanted to say thanks for having me on your awsome forum. The wealth of knowledge and wit is refreshing.

Some background on me, I grew up loving anything fast and still do. My first bike I was 9 and I raced dirtbikes thoughout my youth. My rides mostly 2 strokes. . loved the smell I guess. Or changing plugs !! My first street bike was a RD400, still do ride a Honda CR 250R in the woods almost every weekend. Some things never change. A part of me just does not want to be mainstream.

Then I came across my first bike with Balls, my avatar. Yes it was a Harley but that is not why I liked it. It was a XR1000. All motor, " Barely Legal " but a thrill to ride. I kept it for 17 years and sold it in 00 and have not ridden on the street since.

Well needless to say when a friend told me of a wrecked bike he had when I saw it I had to have it . . Twice Bitten. No foo-foo, just balls to the walls bike. Yes it needs work but I need to ride so here starts another journey.

Greg

Thanks guys, I did post what I needed in the WTB forum. I am updating it now. the front fender is toast and the instruments look decent but looks like they broke off the mount, where ever that is. Downloaded the owners manual and will need a service manual soon. Thanks for warm welcome. Pics to come of my new ride.
