Traded the Z R7s for a 919

I bought a 919 from a Honda dealer last week. This is an 06 with 590 miles on it. Some guy wanted a race bike instead. He had modified this bike nicely with full Yoshi dual exhaust, matching painted chain gaurd and rear hugger. Chrome wheels, chrome radiator cover, frame sliders, smaller front turn signals and removed rear signals for integrated tail light, gear shift indicator, and honda fairing with screen. I got the bike for $6,999.00 and, they gave me $1400 for a well used zr7 which got me out the door with tax title and all the dealer profit markups for a total $6200. It feels like a good deal.

This thing is crazy fast compared to the Zr7. I love it and hope to learn a lot from you guys on the forum. Im really interested in maintenance threads as well as the general stuff.

David

Welcome aboard, David! Sounds like you got yourself a well mod'ed 919 there! So I am obligated to say that

There is a boat load of information on the 919 here.

Just for the record, Yoshi does not make a full dual exhaust system for the 919. What you have are a set of slip-on cans.

Welcome

Welcome from steamy La. I rode a 750 Zepher all over the South in the mid 90s. The 919 is what motorbikes should have evolved into, if they hadn't started copying race bikes.

That’s it! And if its not then it is an exact replica of it down to the slip-ons. Thump must have wanted much more bike to let this thing go with so many add-ons and so little miles on it. I’m glad he did. I use it right now as a commuter in Nashville Tennessesse and have doubled the miles in a week. Its addictive as hell.

My employees asked me this morning why have I been coming in smiling to work so early in the morning. I had to lie and tell them I got lucky.

Gotta thumb up twice on that one.

Congrats on the new steed. Keep smiling, and keep an eye peeled for puds, riding brother.

I almost had a heart attack. I thought you traded 2 R7s for a 919!

Welcome!
