Time for the Intro

Hello All

I've been lurking here for a while soaking up the info and ambience. I don't have a current bike (unless you count a 1986 spree scooter that won't run). But I expect to own a 9er in early October when I expect to get my hands on some unallocated funds.

My last and only bike was a 1975 CB750f that I bought in 1976 and owned until 1991. It was pretty well tricked out for the time - Yoshinura 826 piston kit, yoshimura daytona cam, full header, etc. That bike kicked some 1100cc asss in its day! I should have kept it but that is another story.

Anyway, glad to have found you guys and I'll be around.

Welcome! And if your looking for a good used bike this is the place to check. every once and a while a good clean modified 9'er comes up for sale that would be a great way to "keep it in the family" .

Almost sound like my story. Hope you get the 9er. Also look into cycletrader.com, found mine that way. Heads-up - 9er really are fun to ride - I took a week of just cruising around to get use to her and I'm sure I'm the only one who clocks in at work with a smile...........(my poor truck has not moved)

Thanks for the Warm Welcome

Yeah, I can't wait to get my but on a new (probably used) bike but I have to wait till the $$ show up. On the bright side, there should be some awesome deals around 10/1. I just have to decide betweenused or new. Right now, I think I could get a brand new '07 for ~7500 OTR. That's with no negotiation.

Anybody know how much widdle room they might have? Any chance of getting it down another $500?

If not, still seems like a good deal. My ideal find would be an '05 in gloss black with low miles, cheap, and close. Might be tough to find that combo but that would be perfect.

I would hazard a guess that down by $500 is definitely on the low side.

Hello and welcome. Good luck with the bike purchase.
