Potential 919 owner looking for acceptance

Wow, I guess I found the gathering for 919 owners here. This is great so much info. I've spent the last two days searching info here for bar end mirrors, slip-ons, maintenance and Buell flyscreens so I think I'm getting educated. Anyway, I go tomorrow to look at a 2004 919 (bone stock) w/ only 2200 miles on it. Hopefully it'll be worth the drive. I'll have money left over for some goodies, hopefully someone on here will wanna sell some pipes cheap. Anyway, This'll be my 5th bike and I'm looking forward to joining the club.

Welcome! I believe that I know you from another forum. Funny how we are both gravitating to a 919.....

Yes Sir you do. I miss the SuperHawk already but it's time to move on. I considered to get another one cheap but to do everything I did to that bike all over again, I'd rather start with a new platform and see what happens. Oh let the spending begin.

Welcome and good luck with the bike.

Well, the search continues. I looked at the bike thinking it would be a quick deal. Get there bike starts up and runs fine but there are strange scratches on the sides and on top. I start to pry and the guy ends up telling me (like he forgot before) that the previous owner accidentally dropped the bike out the back of his pick up!!!!! It had a new rear tire but the front tire was cupped to a point that looking at it from the side it looked "hilly" No way I'd be riding that two hours back home. Plus, no test ride, not that i really wanted to with rain and leaves covering every bit of asphalt. So needless to say I passed. I'm not looking for a mint piece but something a little less suspect. Oh well, deals will come and go.
