Old dog, old tricks

OK, back in the saddle after almost twenty years. Finally got around to getting a bike again before it's to late. I'm 51 and have been borrowing and riding others bikes for far to long. Found me a nice '05 919 w/4.5K miles, very clean. When I was looking to buy I considered cruisers and Harleys and went for a few test rides but couldn't see why I would want to lounge around when I ride. I've always loved a good roller coaster and this bike is a great ride for me. This forum has been a big help. Since I bought the bike I have replaced the original 10 year old tires, removed the smog, fixed a couple wiring problems, dialed in the suspension and modified the rear fender all by reading through these threads. You guys are a great resource. I'll post some photos soon as I get the chance. Got the bike 10/16 and I'm already annoying my wife and kids by disappearing twice a week on rides. Trying to get hours on the road to relearn some old tricks. If you're SF EastBay I'll see you on the road.

Welcome! Have some fun modding, lots of fun zipping, and try your hardest to wear it out my 9er has been close to my heart for nearly a decade, and I still enjoy fiddling with it and riding it

30,000 mile 919 survivor. No plans of stopping the abuse any time soon.
