not big on fourms

im not really a fan of posting on fourms, mostly join them to buy things (anyone have a complete stock rear fender for a 919? signals, reflectors etc?)

i bought this 02 for cheap, pulled it all apart to repaint everything, wasn't to pretty when i got it.

Engine looks good. Did you repaint it assembled? How about the frame & triple clamps? What exhaust, hard to tell from that far out (no bands??).

This is something I'd also like to do if I ever keep the bike for so long

yep, ive wanted a 919 for years, had the 599 and loved it in fact i should have never sold it (pic attached)..the one thing i super hate on these bikes..aftermarket parts, i like to tour, and finding luggage (mostly want a top rack) and a decent windshield(thinking Puig Naked shield looks good?) is kind of a pain.

awesome build Keep us updated with pictures and stuff. I always like to read these types of threads.

Will you be doing additional mods to the bike ? front end conversion etc ? Or just cleaning/rebuilding it up to snuff again ?

no mods in store right now, i used to be an aggressive rider years back, ive calmed it down now, it had a PC3 and K&N which i removed and went stock, i dont mind the exhaust one bit, its rather quiet at highway speeds (i hate loud bikes you cant think straight when you ride).

only things i plan on is a top case/rack, windscreen, new Delkavic exhaust(the lasers are scratched a little) and a 17t front sprocket, i plan on traveling like i did on my KLR-650, just not on the dirt as much.

i ride daily, in the cold, heat, rain etc, i need reliability and versatility...yes i miss my KLR

i did start posting videos as i go along and have instagram, thats about the best place to find updates, i may start a thread of before and after once its finished later.

Interesting to see how the white on white will look like

(I found the stock blue paint + gold calipers to be a pleasant on the eye combo too)
