Anything over half throttle in 2nd gear will cause it to pop in and out of second. I googled 01 gsxr 750 2nd gear problem and supposition 45% of Suzuki of America had that problem but Suzuki wouldn't take fault.

Welcome stang!! Good to see another gixxer owner round here, I have a 2000 750, mine seems to have avoided the second gear issue, but I talk too many people that had the 2nd/neutral problem, not much you can do unless ya go deep inside....anyway welcome bro!

Welcome to... yeah, Suzukis I'm taking my tranny apart and getting the gears backcut before it becomes a real issue.

You are a wise man

Edit: stang, good choice in years, seem to have very little trouble with those

Just get something with a lifan motor. Crazy horsepower and excellent fit and finish.

BTW.....welcome! I'm sure you will enjoy the place.

When I die I want to die peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather did....not screaming in horror like the passengers in the backseat of his car.
