New to CB919, but not motorcycles

Hello All:

First time posting on this site, but I am a (infrequent) poster on CBXWorld (known as MyCBX) and CB1100F.net (known as MyCBF).

My first bike was a 1966 CB305 that I rode in college. Over time I had a 1976 CB750, a 1982 CBX and a 1983 CB1100F. Sold the CBX a couple of years ago and the 1100F is now up for sale. It is an original-paint survivor that has had some preservation work to keep it looking new – only 8,700 miles. Contact me if you are interested – PM works for me.

Anyway, last spring I purchased a 2007 CB919 Hornet. Love this bike. It was totally stock (I plan to keep it that way) and had only 3,500 miles. I photo is attached for your review.

Being a bit “old-school” I like key fobs for my cars and motorcycles, but I could not find any that I like for the CB919 Hornet. So, I ordered a run of 100 that I expect will arrive in a week or so. I am holding off taking any orders now until I see the final product. Meanwhile, I am posting a spec of what I ordered.

Best, MyCB919

I thought that CB1100 was a CB700S because of the fairing, I didn't realize they looks so close.

Nice pair of bikes. We both have almost the same thing. I've got the 06 red, all stock except the K&N. My 700S is an 84 and it too is red but has seen better days.

I bet that 1100 is a blast to ride and gets some looks.

Welcome. I like both your bikes. Low miles and clean. Also like your key ring.

Hello All:

Thanks for the nice comments and your interest in the key fob.

KarlJay; Yes, the fairing on the CB700SC is similar, but not interchangeable. I suspect the 700SC fairing is as hard to find as an 1100F fairing. And the 1100F is fun to ride and draws a fair amount of attention. Earlier this year my brother was displaying it for me at a major automobile concours that included a collection of vintage motorcycle and the bike earned a first in class trophy.

Islandboy: I had to check on Google Earth to see where Flinders Island is located and you sure are along ways away. I like my bikes to be stock and low miles – that’s why I picked up the 2007 CB919. The chin fairing on the 1100F was a period, aftermarket add-on, but it is easily removeable for the rare times I take it to a show. At 8,750 miles it is an original-paint survivor.

When you say, “clean” I took that for stock. My brother is also into “clean” but he takes that to mean a well-done custom or highly modified. Attached are photos of his 1981 CBX, 1978 supercharged Gold Wing and 1983 1100F for your review.

I did mention that my CB1100F was for sale and in just the last 2 days I’ve had several calls and now have a deposit in hand, so there is a strong possibility I’ve ridden for the last time.

To those of you showing interest in the key fob I got word that they will be in by October 1st. What I spec’ed was a quality piece with baked enamel paint finish – NOT some decal with a clear plastic lens/cover. Please be patient, they will be here soon.

Best, MyCB919

I really like your brother's idea of a clean bike. All three are very nice. He kinda likes red uh?
Sounds like your doing the key rings right. I'd be up for a bit of bike bling too.
