New to 919

Hi All,
Just ordered a brand new (leftover) 2007 919. I'm and old guy and I rode Harley's for years. I knew I wanted something different to ride and fell in love with the 919. I am having Givi saddlebags, engine guards and A755 windscreen(painted to match) installed before it is delivered on 9/19.
I really like the photos that I have seen of 919's with belly pans, especially the MBD. Does anyone know if the Givi engine guards will interfere with the installation of one?
Thanks a lot, Sam

Welcome Sam
Lots of us are thinking were old, part of the 919's appeal is ergonomics for Geezers.

"part of the 919's appeal is ergonomics for Geezers." I like that! I rode a CBR1000RR and besides the fact that it scared the h*ll out of me, it was uncomfortable to me.

Hello and enjoy the new ride.

Welcome, I've never ridden a hog, but I'm sure the niner is going to be a lot more fun. I get a big smile every time I ride mine.

Welcome to the fold. It's funny that a lot of HD riders allow me to ride with them. I guess it's because they are curious to know what I am riding. When I twist my wrist and leave them in the dust, they all want a chance to ride my 9er. I just have to sorry, no.....

riding is an addiction, no matter what you ride.

I just sold my Honda Magna which was all set up for long tours and bought a new 2007 919 for the same reasons you did. Plus I needed the 5 gallon tank and 200 mile range for touring. Now I need to set up the 919 with saddle bags and a decent windscreen.

What's your opinion on the Givi A755 at freeway speeds? Can you post any more pictures of your bike with all the gear? Did the dealership paint the windscreen for you?

The Givi A755 isn't anything like a full fairing, but it definitely helps! You'll still feel a lot of turbulence around your sides and the top of your helmet, but it takes the direct blast off of the front. I have a friend that owns an auto paint and body, and it cost me $150 including clearcoat to have it painted.
I just ordered a Givi E360 rear hard bag. The only change that I've made that I don't like are the red wheel stripes that I put on. Gonna take those off. Will get more photos soon. I haven't had a traffic ticket in over 30 yrs., but I might now! Whatthehey, I can afford at least one!
HAVING A BLAST!!!!!!!!!!

BTW, I'm gonna be in Ridgecrest, CA (middle of nowhere) most of the time for at least a year helping take care of my Mom. Anyone live near here?
