New Member, Finally got a 919

Picked up this 919 from a member here on Saturday during a rain storm (trailered it about 100 miles). Got to take her for a 200+ mile ride today on company business (a little out of the way to find the twisty roads though).

Here she is next to my SV650.

On the list are to get new gearing. It has a speedo healer, at 60mph I am turning exactly 4k. The erion exhaust is LOUD. May want to swap it to the stock pipes (which I have but they are de-baffled). I have been here reading about the bike for a while, just now got around to posting.

The only thing I hated today about the 919 is there is NO storage whatsoever. I had my liner in my jacket and wanted to take it off later in the day and could not stuff it under the seat... Guess I need luggage.

That is the most awesome, perfect, clean example of a 919 that ive ever seen....the previous owner looks like he took exceptional care in maintaining that bike...im willing to bet that he liked that bike so much it stayed in his house....you just dont find people like that much anymore....good luck with it....by the way...i just sold mine or we could ride...

I'd advise a tank bag. They're the cheapest to get and the least headache to deal with. Also I got one of these to stuff under the seat (you bike has luggage hooks that swing out from under the seat): Amazon.com: POWERTYE 50152 Black 15" x 15" Cargo Net: Automotive

Welcome to another green hornet. I like some of the mods on your bike. I nearly convinced I need to put on a 900rr rear wheel and a 600 front wheel. I like the black on green as well.

Mine is mostly stock:

Looks like new chain and sprockets.

Green is the best color. I'd trade my red tank, fender and tailpiece in a heartbeat.

I am going to do the swingarm and side brackets black as well. Also thinking of powdercoating the brake calipers the exact same green. Turns out my powdercoater has a perfect match.

Don't get stupid with it... Doing aesthetics like calipers or the swingarm in the same color will just ruin the overall scheme. The attractiveness of the 919 is in its minimalistic nature. You want to see one swatch of color or another not polka dots of color sticking out here & there.

Swignarm looks good black and might wanna try the stator cover too. I would not cover up the badges or nozzles on the cans though

I like the monochrome look of the engine vs having some black covers. Not a fan of the chrome tips nor the name plate on the exhaust cans.
