Hello everyone, just got a Honda 919, saw your forum here and thought I would join and introduce myself. Got the bike on Thursday, 18k miles, finally got a chance to play this weekend. Changed oil and filter, put back on stock mirrors so I could see past my own shoulders, and rode around. A little. I am 46 and have been riding since 1989, but have not owned a bike since 2004. Taking it slow to get my skills back, improving by leaps and bounds every day. Last bike owned was Harley Sportster 1200, before that Yamaha Seca 750. Oh and my name is Roger.

Here is a picture of my baby

Welcome and grats on a fun, low maintenance, infinitely customizable (sometimes to the detriment of your bank account), bullet proof bike, and finding one of the most amazing sources of info about it on the net.

Glad to have you.

+1

+2 on being detrimental to your bank account and this forum not helping with someone always seeming to sell something you've 'got to have' at an exceptional price

Am I wrong or is your front tire mounted backward? Seems like it would be drawing water toward the center instead of away...

How ya doing Roger. You are in the right place. Glad to have you aboard and take it slow like you are doing and that's your best bet.

Thanks all for the really warm welcome. Have already got a ton of great info from this site, even before I got the bike and was lurking. That is an evap canister. Original owner was from bay area. Thinking of ditching it for a center stand, already found instructions here on how to do it. Just gotta save up the dough for the center stand, as you folks mentioned, wallet is hurting.

Good choice of bike for getting back into it!
I've been riding my 919 for eight years now and it still makes me grin.

I plan to die young, as late as possible.
