New Guy from Oregon

Last month I found a clean Honda 919 with 14,500 miles, and have been following the forum for maintenance and set-up tips. Thanks to all of you! I've downloaded the manuals, and I changed the oil and filter, put on a new rear tire, went to 17/44 gearing with a new X-ring chain, and added 9mm bar risers. I also did the PAIR block-off plates and flapper valve mod in hopes of helping the low speed fueling issue. It came with the triangular Yoshimura stainless steel slip-ons. Finally I went back to the stock mufflers, and they work much better for me in my quiet neighborhood. The mint Yoshi's are for sale for $200 OBO plus shipping. I'll do a separate post with pictures.

I'm using the bike for Oregon back road trips of about 200 miles, and find it very smooth and enjoyable. As an old guy, I don't use the top end power much, but it does come in handy when a jerk in an Audi creeps up on you on the right at a stop light that will merge to one lane. Basically, the bike handles like my Hawk 650GT on steroids.

Now, I need to choke back the tears and do the big 16K service.

I’m out in Oregon for a week visiting my parents.
I live in NC and we have good roads but have been on some here that make me wish I had a bike.
Polk county out to Tillamook and also out to a semi-secluded lake just past Toledo.

Plenty of good two-lane roads here, not all smooth, but interesting. In the summer, you just have to avoid the tourist routes such as Hwy. 101 on the coast, which can be 45 mph from Washington to California.

...... and if Nathan or Bryce don't pick up your Yosh's, I'll get in line for them.
I'm in the Portland OR area quite often for work, you'll find some good roads to ride there.
Cheers and welcome

I never did get around to that 16,000 service. I sold the bike at 33,000. That dude wrecked it, sold it to another guy. It changed color somewhere along the line. Last I heard, it had 45,000 miles on it, and still running strong. I don't really recommend doing that, but it worked out for me.
