New guy from North Carolina

I'm 23 from the North Carolina mountains. I currently ride an 89 Transalp. I've been riding it since I was 17. I'm looking for a 919 now. I come from a Honda family. My cousin owned Spartanburg Honda until it closed. My dad worked there too. He could still rebuild a CB750 blindfolded. I've been lurking for a while while researching CB900's, now I'm set on getting one.

I'd like to get to know more riders from WNC. I don't have enough people to ride with in my town.

mmmm translap... such a great bike! beautiful bullet proof motor as well! would LOVE to stuff that motor into my vlx, considering its the same engine design, just more hp than the vlx motor.

welcome! you cant go wrong with a 919. good luck with your search!

Welcome man. I'm in NC as well but on the opposite end of the spectrum unfortunately. We should have an NC rider meetup sometime this summer.

There is the Bull City Rumble every September in Durham. It is put on by the local Ton Up club, but all bikes are welcome. It was a great time last year, a few members came out, but there wasn't an official WT meetup, we all realized we were there after the fact.

Easy for me, as I live in Durham, but it is centrally located!

Yeah, it's a great bike. More reliable than my 650L I had, but it just isnt very cool.

I have yet to ride a 919 but I sat on one at a stealership nearby and I have to say, it was love at first sit.

I hope so. I'm a big rider (6'3", 260 lbs), and it has been really difficult to find a Honda bike that is sporty, powerful enough to pull my lurch-ness around, and not feel cramped on ot. It was between a 919 and a VFR750. 919 won out the instant I sat on one.

Land of the Lost has a cult following. That doesn't make it cool.

I'm keeping it stock. They're too rare in the states to molest.

Yeah I remember coming across that thread, post it up when it rolls around this year. If I'm in town I'll definitely make the run over to Durham, it's about 3 hours from me (it's where I picked up my 9er from)

A cafe racer show? I'm attending this regardless of me getting a new bike or not.

My heart literally skipped a beat when I saw that RC30. That is my all time dream bike.
