new guy

I'm a new guy to the board and fairly new to motorcycling and sport biking. I had 93 FZR 600 a while back. It was my first bike that I practiced on for a little while. I currently have a 05 919. It’s fairly stock consisting of Rental ultra low bars, which is really my only mod to it (well a couple other minor performance and visual things). My background is die-hard Honda but of a different breed. I was heavily (and current still am) into sport compacts. I've raced all types: drag, auto-x, road race. I did nearly every engine configuration in the Civic chassis. However I currently have a K20A-R setup. I'm extremely into road racing and I'd love to get out there and road race the 919. Hopefully I can learn a lot and have fun on this site!

welcome

check for local track clubs in your area, that'll get you started down the road

the 919 is ok for the first few visits to the track days...enough to get you addicted

Welcome Shane. If you're from or near Evansville ... we'd be neighbors also.

Welcome. Very ambitious to want to race a 919, but more power to ya.

I've seen a few at trackdays, but never at a race.

Yes, I am from Evansville. Cool, so I do have a few neighbors on here.

I just want do some track days in the 919. Not race, sorry if I didn't specify. I might get a full on sportbike for that. However, people said the same thing about a Civic at trackdays until I've made Evos and 350Zs look like an every Ford Taurus in comparsion.

I'll post some a pic of the bike soon and a pic/specs on the EK for you, HandoEX.

Here is a current shot of my bike.

My buddies Triumph 675 and my 919.

Here's a pretty good pic of the EK at a Honda meet. (the car made S3 magazine from this meet)

Don't make fun of how clean it is. It hasn't been that clean ever since...

Hando EX, here are some of the specs. I'll skip over most of it to make it short, sweet and interesting even though there's more.

01 Honda Integra K20A-R engine -- All Motor Stock
Custom fuel system
EG (92-95 Civic front subframe and suspension)
Zeal Endless Function S6 full coilover with track/aggressive street alignment and ride height & corner weighted w/ me in it (not anymore I gained about 20lbs....)
Ferodo/EBC/SS Brakes
16" wheels/215 sport tires
Race seats/harnesses
Strut/pillar bars
Few things removed.
Mainly everything that could be changed for more speed, lighter weight, or better cooling I've tampered with.

Only thing I need further is adjustable engine management, roll bar/cage and maybe 4 piston brakes...

I have some plans for the 919 though. I just got it the closing months of last year so I'll see how it goes. I need tires and .... and....... soon.

Yeah, the boobies are niiice! You should see when I have them press against the glass. :-O

I have a very puny short vid of it down the straight at the local track. That's about it. I don't take many videos or pics of it (I probably should). I hope to get some in-car vid this season with some good battles against my track buddy with a Nissan He is a actually a local 919er too! I'm not sure of his hame on here though. But he's the one that got me in the 919 and this site!
