New 919 rider as of Sept. 10th at 3:00pm

Hey everyone, I have been checking this site out for about a week now and had my dealer get me a 919 in today, I was there when they broke it out of the crate, it's a red '07, after the mechanic gave it the test ride I rode it with 2 miles on it. I really like it and look forward to talking with everyone on here in no time. I will get some pics tomorrow but I don't really know if everyone wants to see another red 919?

btw I paid $7680 otd don't know if thats good or not, I shook all the dealers around and thats the best I could do.

I do notice the handle bar buzz at 5 grand like everyone talked about, and my wife and I both find the seat to suck, the seat is the easy fix, I already read all the threads on fixing that. I got the brakes broke in right off the bat and the fronts and very noisy already, I was thinking they just need some time but it's pretty bad, might go back to the dealer. I am loving the motor, it just pulls! Doesn't matter what gear, it just pulls! Cool sound to!

Post a pic up anyway. We love 919's, especially the red ones.

$6500 out the door? Man I never heard of such a good deal! Most dealers told me to take a hike when trying to get a better deal.

Welcome! I paid about $7300 otd a couple months ago, but that's with the insane WA sales tax (10%!) that we get instead of a state income tax. I'd say you did fine.

Personally, I wanted a 919 from the first time I saw one in 2002. They're selling now for way less than they're worth.

You done good. Ride safe and tell us where you go.

Welcome, SM. New here myself. I came soooo close to buying an exact same '07 919 when I first decided to get a bike. I absolutely fell in love w/ that deep, deep cherry sorta red on that bike. No doubt you will love her!

Here in GA they are going for almost exactly what you paid so I'd say you got a pretty good deal. (when I say they are going for that I mean after all of the mark downs and deals due to lack of sales)

I want to pick up one SO bad but my 599 is still kicking like a champ and being in college the funds arent readily available....but when they are my hornet always gets some new goodies!

Slight update as I near the 100 mile mark. The bike has a insane amount of power, nothing good will come from this, lol, and I stink of exhaust as I had read on here, kinda sucks, love the way the exhaust looks though! Going to do the baffle eliminator for a deeper sound.

The first oil change will be this weekend, probably between the 150-200 mile mark. I hate knowing that there is loose metal and break-in lube in the motor\oil, poor oil filter! I am weird like that...
