Welcome to the site elmer. The 919 makes a wonderful touring rig.

If your bike doesn't have it already get yourself an aftermarket seat, windscreen, GPS, some kind of throttle help (Crampbuster or one of the throttle locks), put an accessory outlet on it, and mount up one of the luggage options, then enjoy the ride.

I expect to see you in KY in 2008.

Hello and welcome Elmer.
Touring rider, eh? How about you jump on your steed and come on down to a naked ride in the Malibu Hills Saturday morning -- it's only 369 miles. Child's play for any real touring rider! Here's the info: https://www.wristtwisters.com/forum/s...ead.php?t=9894
Stay warm and safe, and congratulations on picking one of the best motorcycles on the planet.

Music to my ears, since I felt like I was going against the grain when I bought mine.

Dress it up or dress it down. You got a fine ride there.

Great all purpose bike. Take the advice on the wind screen. A new seat is not a bad idea if you plan on being in the saddle hours on end. That's is something I'm thinking about for mine. Also eyeing the Givi topcase because my soft side bags are scuffing the hell out of the cowl. Most importantly have a good time and stay safe.

We plan to ride across the U S in May 08. I might take you up on that. Any help you can give on the throttle would be great. Mine is real sensitive at crusing speeds.

I'm a gambling addict, thank you for supporting my habit! Ok, so I get bored working at night and abuse the casino here. No real addiction other than Call of Duty 4 and nicotine. Welcome to Wrist Twisters!
