New 919 owner in Las Vegas

New owner of a 2007 919 here in Las Vegas. This is bike number five for me, and so far the 919 is my favorite. I'm coming from a 2012 Z1000 and I cannot believe how much more I like the 919. For a brand new bike I just never really loved the Z1000. It had a bunch of minor annoyances and quirks, but the deal breaker for me was the abysmal fuel range. I'd generally get about 90 miles before the low fuel light would come on. I had to plan my rides on whether I thought I could find fuel. So happy to be here, love the 919 and this forum is great.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I'm liking the 919 even more as I get more seat time, it is a superb all-rounder. Plenty of power, good handling, great range, cheap insurance, reliable, easy to work on, and most of all just a fun bike. I can't wait for the cooler weather so I can get out to some of the more remote rides I wouldn't take the Z1000 on. It was hard to enjoy the ride when you're constantly worried about running out of gas in the middle of nowhere in the Mojave desert.

Welcome. I bought my 07 on a lark. Never owned a naked bike and wanted one. Other bikes have come and gone but I never think of selling my 919. It is indeed a fun bike.

We try to hit Vegas every year for Shot Show. I can only imagine how hot it is there now. Take a dip in the Cosmo pool, oh wait.....
