New 919 owner from Ohio

Hello to all. I just purchased a 2005 Honda 919 with 4800 miles and a few imperfections to fix. It has 2 dents in the tank which I hope I can get repaired using paintless dent removal. The right muffler shielding is slightly dented. The PO sawed off the rear fender right behind the license plate. I plan on either risers or new handlebars (I'm to old to lean forward) and a windshield. I'm currently making some frame sliders for it. I live in southwestern Ohio.

Nice, rarely see a gloss black one IMO. Looks like you already have the Honda screen?

It's a metallic. I would rather it to have been non-metallic. If I have to paint the tank, I'll probably change it. You are correct, it is a Honda screen. I need something bigger.

Welcome and nice bike. Ride it for a while without replacing the screen, see if you get used to it.

A paintless dent guy can straighten out that muffler shield. Once in a while, those guys work myricles.

How old are you? I'm 57. I can spend most of an afternoon on an old 900RR.

How far are you from LouKy? Lot of really good around here in SoIn.

I figured it would cost as much to get the shield straightened as to get a new one. I'll check it out. I just turned 70 in August. Louisville is probably about 3 hours from Brookville.

The user str8ghtjacket was selling a stock set of mufflers - they might be undented, you could try hitting 'em up.

That bike looks an awful lot like mine - including the dents on the tank! Mine's an '07 though with a few more miles on her.

Welcome to the illustrious club of 9'er owners!
