New 919 Guy from Australia

G'day all,

Just recently bought myself an '05 Hornet and just can't get enough of it! I'm loving the info on the forum and seems like it's a good bunch of up on here too.

Currently in the proccess of blowing all nmy money on getting the bike exactly how I wan't it.

On the list is: Tharbars (already ordered. Rob was awesome to deal with)
Shorty levers from China (installed and happy with them)

Still to do:
Ceramic coating the headers.
Drop the tripple clamp down the forks a touch.
Rearsets- hoping my mate can make me an adapter plate for some non-919 ones
Lots and lots of carbon fibre- Rear hugger, Radiator cheek guards, side panels etc,
S/S brake lines

Meh, blah blah blah, I think i might be preaching tho the converted here. Anyway, lots more things beyond that that I am hoping to do.

Cheers,

Andy

Haha, I'm a Melbourne Lad too! In St Kilda atm, and work out in the eastern burbs.

Oh pics will certainly be coming eventually, but I don't have a camera atm, and my baby needs a clean. Damn this rain dirtying my bike!

I'm in Maribrynong, so west a little, but I go to uni in the city. We should organize for a ride one day. There is a another Melbourne member on her who is keen who lives out east too.

Today was nice weather for a ride a after the rain in the morning. Unfortunately my 9er is in the repair shop at the moment so I couldn't get out and enjoy it! :-(

Hey mate- I'm an American with a 919 in OZ on business.

I'm currently in Brisbane with a hired Suzuki SV650, I'll be in Sydney Monday then down to Melbourne where I am thinking of renting a bike Tuesday night and return it Thursday morning. So a full day of riding on Anzac day.

If you want to grab a pint or ride, I'm in Mebourne until the 30th.

Cheers,

Dave

Sorry for the silence all. I have recently been unexpectedly occupied with the passing of my Grandma (unexpectedly sadly) and have been running around between lawyers and executors etc getting her estate organised and so on.

But sadness aside, thanks heaps for all the welcomes and I look forward to hopefully contributing to the boards from here on in.

Nate mate, we will definitely need to organise a ride some time. Haha, no idea when yet but!

No good to hear at all mate! Hope all is on the right track now. No rush about organizing a ride, my bike is still in the repair shop, but when we are both back in action we will sort something out!

why a steering damper? the 919 does NOT need it, ever. return the useless thing, get your money back and buy something else more beneficial

I'm keen as mate. However my bike is still in the repair shop, I was rear ended the other day but that's another story. Then I have uni exams approaching, so as soon as I get my bike back and have a free day all three of us should get together for a ride!

Do explain. I was thinking about adding a damper as well for added safety.

After reading your information you found about the damper, my conclusion is that having the damper which i bought for $55 will make what seems to be a already stable bike even more stable , and also add bling YaY , thanks for the info i didnt knoe these bikes were as stable as this.

let us know how you attach it, ie will you drill lower triple and frame or do you have brackets.
I have an ohlins from my track bike that i am thinking of sticking on, i have drilled the triple, but keep wavering about drilling the frame.
