N00b 919'r

I stumbled on this forum today and boy am I glad I did. I've been trying to find a good forum for 919s for a while and you guys have a great one going here!

I picked up my 919 last month from a semi-local dealer on Ebay. I think I got a pretty good deal on it, but since I'm from ND and it's 10 degrees outside, it'll be a few months before I get a chance to ride the damn thing Here's the details on the bike...

Blue 2002 (it's a Canadian model, titled in the US)
3200 miles
Two Brothers undertail slip ons
Brand new Pilot Powers
fender eliminator
Lockhart Phillips tank bra
smoked fly screen (just bought it, haven't installed yet)

Pics...

I have had an '88 ZX6 and an '03 R6 as past bikes. They were both great to me, but were very uncomfortable on long trips and when my wife tagged along on rides. I also ride a badass Yamaha Zuma 49cc 2-stroke scooter that's a ton of fun

Anyways, I'm looking forward to staying here a long time and learning as much as I can about my new Hornet.

Welcome to WristTwisters. Don't mind the natives, they are harmless for the most part.

Is it warmer in the valley? Sweet new ride! it is pretty cool to have the unique touch of the other market color. Enjoy.

Haha, it's ALWAYS windy here and definately colder here than the outskirts of the Red River valley.
I really like the blue. It's a little different than other 919s, not that there's a a ton of 'em in Fargo

If you don't mind me asking how much did you pay for your bike? I am looking at one that is the same year, same color and with only slightly more kilometers (Canada is meteric eh)? The guy wants $5000.

I paid $3500. The bike is almost perfect. There is a tiny dent on the lower side of the gas tank that is barely visible if you know it's there. Otherwise it's flawless. I think you could find one for quite a bit less than $5k.

Welcome welcome! Seeing your blue is making me consider going a somewhat similar direction...I've got the "body" off at the moment since I've been doing repairs, so now would be the time! Just gotta cure all the rash first

Sure thing. Whenever the roads have less snow and ice on them.
