Exclamation long time listner first time caller

hey everybody, i signed up for this forum in october of 08 and have been looking for a bike a couple months before that. well, i have not yet bought a newer bike. however i have found the one i want, HONDA 919!!
i narrowed it down from about 15 bikes and i like this one the best, not to mention i wont have to do anything cosmetically to it because it looks great.

so with that, i am looking for a 919 for around 2-$3000 i dont care how many miles and a parking lot lay down is ok by me. is it possible? logical?

please let me know of things to check for when inspecting a 919 before i buy.
and/ or which year is the best bang for the buck
i hope to be on a 919 soon
thanks in advance
joshw

oh BTW, i do have an origianal 1981 yamaha xj550rh seca (its a naked old sport bike, yamaha took it to laguna in 81-83) for sale.. asking 1500
email me for pics and details

Yeah, I told myself the same thing back in September when I picked up an 03 919. Now it's got a filled/shaved tail, integrated LED brake light, fender elim, chopped passenger peg arms, repainted tank, etc, etc....Oh, an all the parts that I /want/ to order before spring.... Just be sure to set aside some cash. :)

Hello and good luck with the search.

Welcome to the best site on the web (and, yes, I am including in my metrics sites for the OTHER favorite adult pastime).

I paid $3750 for my '03 down here in SFla. In great shape with maintenance records and well-below Blue Book.

Tons of family in Texas, BTW.

Welcome Josh
I'm sure you will find a nice one. 02 matte black is highly sought after, from 04 on up is best for forks, shock and clock.
