Hi there. I'm John, I like motorcycles and girls...

and my wife isn't too fond of either hobby!

Hey Folks,

MisterMike told me about this forum, so I thought I'd stop by. I see him on Sundays down at Marcus Dairy in Danbury CT. I'm born and raised in southwestern CT, and I've been riding for about 20 years now (I'm 37).

I know lots of you folks here ride 919s, I love them. My last two bikes have been Yamahas, but my five bikes prior to the Yammies were all Hondas.

My present baby is a leftover '06 Yamaha RoadStar that I picked up last weekend brand-new. I traded in an '02 FZ1 for it, as the FZ1 just wasn't comfortable for me anymore, and I'd had enough of the inline-4 buzz. I'm absolutely in love with my first v-twin!

Here's a few shots of her -

I've put 550 miles on her now, almost time for the first oil change. I ordered the V&H shorty pipes and the Baron Big Air Kit last night.

Well, that's it, just a little intro!

Thanks for readin', folks!

Thanks for the welcome, fellows!

I have not been to Marcus in a few years

You're so close, you should stop down. It's back to where there's always a few hundred bikes even on the slow Sundays.

Welcome JohnnyLfromCT!

Nice bike for sure, but I think it would look a little better with the following upgrades:

Invert the fork
Put some 3 spoke alloy rims on
Tuck the exhaust up by the tail
Slim down the seat
Put a higher, tapered tail on. Just stick it straight out over the rear wheel.
Remove about 1/2 of the frame
Swap engines with a bored out 900RR
Flatten out the handlebars somewhat
and finally, slap some wing decals on the gas tank...

I think that would look pretty sweet.

Enjoy the site!

My goal is simple. It is a complete understanding of the universe, why it is as it is and why it exists at all.

Hiiiiii there!

Welcome aboard! It apprears that you know Mike well - the local modaholic chapter President - and are well on your way to membership once the pipes and air kit are installed. I had V&H 2:1 Pro's on my Vulcan -- would love to see pics when you are done.

Take another foot of height off the shorter guy (Big Mike), and put some gray hair on his noggin and a cigar in his mouth...then you're close.

Probably more than a foot, Mike's the only guy I know that needs a step stool to get in his wheel chair
