Hi from mesquite, TX

Thought I'd say hello from here in purgatory I moved down here from PA and have noticed there aren't very many twisty roads here!! I have a 2006 BMW K12S and a "99 Kawasaki ZX6R, been riding since 1988 when I bought a brand new EX500, sold that and bought a Hawk GT unfortunately someone in Memphis stole that! Went bikeless for a few years till I bought the ZX6R new in Charleston, SC. Hope to learn alot from the guys on this site!!!

Hola,

That's tex-mex for WELCOME TO THE LOONEY BIN!

Check out Venus road, its not too far from you and it's certainly not crazy twisty, but it might give you a few kicks. I wish I could tell you the other roads I hit after meeting LucilleBrawl, but I'll be damned if I could. The best I can tell you is head south past venus and turn right. Follow that road past I35 and start exploring. There's some fun roads out there, definately can carry a ton of speed, but its still fun as hell. I was chasing a Hyabusa so I wasn't keeping track of where we were going. I met up with him at the gas station at the tail end of Venus and he asked where I was headed. I was avoiding I35 to get back home, and he lead me most of the way over to 281.

if you love your motorcycle, set it free.. if it comes back and hits you.. you highsided

Head west towards Ft. Worth, there are some nice twisty roads through slightly hilly terrain out there. There is a back way to Waco from the east side of Ft. Worth (maybe the Mid cities) that totally rocks.

I been gone from Texas for about 35 years but when I left there were a lot of good roads all over East Texas. Not so much anwhere in West Texas. Go looking for fm ( farm to market) roads. They're always fun.

I went out through some of east tx down through Jasper and Lufkin areas and up to Longview and back....pretty scenery but not much for curves or fun. I'll keep looking though. I guess I'm just used to eastern PA's curves and mountains

venus road sucks now. I guess they got tired of all the high traffic from bikes and repaved it but left the gravel exposed. Kinda like aggrogate concrete, simply horrible. But go further down 287 and hit fm 663 and fm 875 going into waxahatchie. fantastic road.

Welcome to the site! I'm a PA man myself, now living in the St. Louis area, and missing eastern PA roads. There are some decent roads here in MO, but where I live, it's an hour ride to any of them. I got spoiled, I guess. At my parent's house, it's just a decision to turn left or right out of the driveway.

Enjoy the site!
