Hi Folks.

This is my first post here so I'm Jamie (Friend of the satch) - It's followed me for many years as I've travelled all sorts of places to see Satriani.
I bought a 2002 919 Hornet in Sept after many years of riding cruisers.
I'm originally from Australia but now call England home. Basically chrome and salt roads do not mix so sadly the Dragstar had to go.

Look forward to looking through the boards.

Cheers!

Welcome Jamie

In your years of following Satriani, did you ever get to see the "G3 Tour" live?
(Johnson, Satriani & Vai all together)

Hello and welcome. I'm jealous you still get to see the G3 concerts in Europe. They aren't playing the US at all on this tour.

Surely you've heard of Eddie VanHalen? A lot of people credit him as being one of the best guitar gods of the 80s/90s.
While he certainly was one of the best, Joe Satriani is right there with him on the skill level if not better.

You've probably never heard of him because mainstream media doesn't give him credit where credit is due. He's a solo act, imagine if Kenny G played guitar instead of the clarinet (or whatever it is)... but really rocked at it & was cool. That's who Joe Satriani is (IMO).

He has more (14) grammy nominations without a win than any other musician. He's been playing forever and he still rocks.
p.s. Sorry to hijack the intro tread

Welcome Jamie! I was just listening to Satriani last night! I saw him play in a department store in Yokohama, Japan about 15 years ago. Great show!

Well thanks to you all for welcoming me here.

I could go on for days about Joe Satriani but in a nutshell he's bought me a lot of happy musical times over many years and some great travelling experiences.
He has also come over really well when I've met him and I love his talent.

I did not get to see the Eric Johnson shows sorry. I have however seen shows with Petrucci, Paul Gilbert and Robert Fripp. The 2005 shows in Japan - John Petrucci - were great. The Japanese people were really good and man do they know their guitar stuff too!
