Hey from Pa.

I bought a forlorn '82 CB450 SC Nighthawk in May, after not owning a M/C since 1976.
Found this site from another forum and thought I'd give it a try.

The bike is semi-stripped in preparation for paint and cleanup/maintenance, being put back together now, in hopes it will be done by August.

I'm making a few functional and cosmetic mods, which I look forward to sharing on here when it's presentable.

I also look forward to participating in the various fora.
I was a VW/Porsche tech since the late sixties and still turn wrenches on occasion as a hired gun (wrench?).
Had my own shop for a bunch of years, specializing in restoration.
I love fabricating and modifying parts to make something new or different.

Welcome!

I have a friend with an '84 CB 450 back in Europe and I rode it a couple of times. They have a lot of character and were really good at their time back then. My friend sold the bike and got a Transalp later on for adventure riding, but he still misses his lil' ol' CB.

Have fun and again, welcome!

Welcome to WT, can't wait to see the bike. Some before and after pics would be great.

Dang joemac, good to have you aboard!

Hope you like it here.

You shade me by a couple years. I started riding when I was 12 in '68 and have never stopped.

Kinda shame you let it go so long ago but a hearty welcome back!!!!!!!!

Howdy, welcome, good to hear you're riding again. Now you have the excuse "I have to ride more to make up for lost time!"

My phone is goofing and won't send the photos to my PC.
Maybe tomorrow.

Well, it's tomorrow.
I've tried, unsuccessfully, to upload several photos.

Well, it's tomorrow.
Let's see if this works.

OK, so I can only upload two images at a time.
The first is when I parked it, where it conveniently ran out of fuel.
I was going to empty the tank, anyway, in preparation of cleaning and painting.
How cooperative is that?

The second image is of the bike during maintenance/cleaning.
This thing is a joy to work on.
I should have been a bike mechanic!
