Hello from the Maritimes

Hi everyone.

I found this forum while looking for aftermarket mirrors for my CB900F. It is my first bike, bought last September. I've had my motorcycle license for 11 years, but I was only driving my dad's bikes 2-3 times a year.

When I moved back from the city to my rural hometown last year, I decided that I wanted a bike to ride with my dad. I wanted something nimble and easy to maneuver, because I never felt 100% comfortable (mostly at slow speed) with my dad's heavy bikes. Over those 11 years, he owned a Yamaha Virago, Yamaha V-Star 1100, Harley Davidson Road King, Yamaha Royal Star and finally another Harley Davidson Road King. Basically, I constantly had to get used to a new bike.

I was looking for a used, smaller, naked bike like the Suzuki SV650 / Honda 599 / Yamaha FZ6. But living in a small rural area, I couldn't find any of those. Then I saw this 2002 CB900F that was in top shape with only 19 000KM and the price was within my budget.

I read countless reviews and convinced myself that it was too much of a bike (for a semi-beginner like me). I also thought a lot about two young people I knew who got killed on their motorcycles in the last few years (21 year old NHL hockey player Luc Bourdon and a 23 years old girl I knew). Both were riding safely when they had their accident. But I test-drove the CB900F twice and it just felt so good, so I finally bought it.

I was able to put 800KM in September-October before it became too cold to ride. Can't wait for the warmer weather to arrive here!!!

Welcome from Oromocto. Come this way anytime? Helimech and I have made some deals already. He is a good guy to know... he's got access to some great fabrication tools and what seams to be unlimited funds at times... but he does have some speeding tickets to pay off...

True, true, false, true. Thankfully the wife doesn't come on here and see my spending habits.
