Hello from the Buckeye State! O H

Hey guys. Just picked up a my first barn find 02 cb919 that I'm going to bring back to life. Hopefully a fun project for this year. Just need to replace a few things clean it up a bit and get the suspension revived to be good to go. Had a few sportbikes before this, couple gsxr 750s, ninjas, and 954s. Hope to enjoy this after a little tlc just as much as every other bike I've thrown a leg over. Bike is pretty stock from what I can tell except the two bros exhaust. I will try and get pics uploaded of it soon so I can show my progress. Cheers!

Right on . I'm close to Cincinnati. I'm jealous you are so close to Iron pony.. They have some sick bikes there! Keep us posted on the 9er.

That would be a fun job. That place is huge . Like a Walmart for bikes Hit me up anytime. I know all of the good roads to play on around here

Sounds good. Funny, I just picked this bike up from somewhere in between cinci and portsmouth. Little place called peebles. Definitely some roads I will go back to. Tons of curves, blind corners that scared me in the truck even. Just so much nicer than all the flat farmland up here.

Yup that's pretty far east of Cincinnati. I live in Batavia also east of. I have twisties about a mile from my house. Lots of good roads around here and Northern Kentucky back road bliss is very close also. If you go to far North or west it is all flat as you say. If we head to Kentucky it usually eats up the day because you are having so much fun you don't wanna stop.

That sounds great man. I have to make day trips to ride roads that good. Just a bunch of suburbanized farmland here.

Welcome and congrats on the barn find. 919's are pretty bullet-proof so it should be easy to get into shape.

Thanks. Engine sounds good, no smoke, no leaks, fires right up. Muddy as hell, and suspension is shot. Shouldn't be too much trouble.

Well, that's two things we have in common then. Both from Ohio and both own a '02 919. I'm originally from Cincinnati. Welcome to the forums and best of luck with your 919.

... I O

Well somebody's gotta finish it.

Welcome. Dublin's a stone's throw from me so after the spring thaw we'll have to get together and kick tires.

Once you replace the screen-door-closer that Honda passes off as a stock shock you should give OH-555 a try. Pick it up off US-60 just south of Zanesville and go south to the Ohio River. It does not disappoint.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. Glad to hear there's more buckeyes' on the site and in the area. Definitely will try to meet up with people for some rides this season. Just have to get this week or two of weather over with, cuz parts are already on the way. Thanks to lococnc for already shipping out some springs for me too. So far already, this forum has been better than most. Cheers!

I'm also in OH....same area, near Batavia - Maineville. Saw a Uranium 919 yesterday and thought I'd log in to see who's here.

Ha I think I saw you at Exxon the other morning. You have a red 9er with exhaust? The green one was possibly my buddy who is also a forum member Gator513. He lives in Mainville. I'm in Batavia

Well howdy! Welcome to the buzz of Moditis and goofballs you will undoubtedly be disappointed with the chassis, suspension, lighting, grab bar, horrific blinkers/fender thingy, and a zillion other thing about the 9er... But you will also (hopefully) take road trips where you are comfy, burn some cruisers and grow to enjoy your bike more than one should, both because of its excellent points as well as its shortcomings.
Also, I'm a terrible source of information for them. So don't believe anything I say, ever.
Well... Maybe the welcome and 'you'll have fun!' bits.

30,000 mile 919 survivor. No plans of stopping the abuse any time soon.

We should definitely ride sometime. I need to get down to that area soon and you're just around 270 from me. Haven't been down to hocking hills area yet this year but would like to soon. Hit me up for sure and we'll find a good day to go. I've pretty much just been blasting down country roads and getting to know this bike since its new to me this season.

Yeah. I'm no suspension expert but not a great rider either, so I'm just getting used to it for now. Put a little over 600 miles on it these last few weeks. So we're getting to know each other. Seat definitely suck though. Old and wore out. Maybe an airhawk would help. Cheers

Definitely I work Monday through Friday so i generally hit the hills over the weekend. This Saturday supposed to be beautiful but me and my old lady are meeting a realtor but I'm almost always at quaker state on Wednesdays for bike night. We could get meet up there and get a ride together.
