I just realized I have never actually introduced myself, so I thought it about time.

I have been riding my 919 for 3 seasons now and lurking here most of that time until recently posting.

I have owned multiple bikes over the years beginning with a 1983 shadow 750 which started my riding career in 1997. I then jumped to a triumph speed triple in 2004(which is where I learned my love of naked bikes.) After that I tried a couple seasons on a Suzuki DRZ400SM, that was kind of rough, lol. Had a few seasons without a bike before trying my hand at a cruiser and buying a victory judge. Which was ok but I ended up having to sell it and finally got the 2003 919.

Some of you have probably read that my first couple seasons on the 919, I didnt find it that comfortable, however since I have started showing the bike some TLC this year(new rear tire, new spark plugs, adjusted throttle, new fork springs, chain and sprockets(17/44), etc) I am finding it much more enjoyable.

I would also like to mention that I am in the Edmonton, Alberta area. If there is anyone here that might like to go for ride one day, please reach out 🙂

Yes I am. It's almost been as much fun working on the 919 as it has been riding this year, ALMOST 😉

I've always enjoyed working on my bikes. Like you said, nearly as much as riding them.

You get a great feeling of satisfaction when you finish a particular job, however frustrating it may be at the time.
I've a lot of both recently too.

The worst part about such frustrations is when one realizes they were the architect of their own folly.
At least years later, one can laugh at themselves over it.
I laugh at myself lots.......................................

It's true, everyone makes mistakes, if you don't admit to them, then you don't learn from them, and if you can't laugh at yourself, then you're in for unhappy times.
No one's perfect, and no matter who you are, or think you are, there is always someone out there who knows things you don't.
