Fellow Newfie, sadly in B.C.
How ya gettin' on, by? I sure miss riding up and down Signal Hill at dawn (there's too many people at other times). And that run out to Cape Spear is pretty classic... come to think of it, there's a lot of good roads around the Avalon Peninsula. I left Newfoundland a few years ago (to get a job, like everyone else) but I will be back as soon as I can.
And the weather isn't that bad... sure, I was there the year we got 25 feet of snow (2002?), but some other winters are mostly rain - I rode in every calendar month of the year, a few times (even the time I had to dig my SOHC CB750 from under a 30-foot snowbank - it pressed the handlebars down hard enough to dent the tank, but it still started right away... well, after about 50 kicks...)
Stay safe, and watch out for all the road grit and crappy pavement... people from Plymouth Rock and Quebec City are largely ignorant of this, but the oldest street in North America is in St. John's (Water St.) and when the snow melts and the potholes appear, it looks like it.
Sigh. Now I'm just homesick.
