Hello from Maine

[IMG][/IMG]

I just picked this bike up: bone stock 2004 with 2500 miles.

I've been following this forum for 5 years while I was contemplating a 919 purchase. I had a brief ownership of a zrx three years ago because the right 919 did not come along. That was ended by an anonymous driver in a secured parking garage while I was at work. Maybe it was all for the best because this bike showed up this weekend, and it is perfect. The only mods I am planning in the short term are a center stand (motech from what I have read here), and a short windscreen (more for bug protection for the bike than wind protection; I need to read more about the brand for that one-Buell m2, Honda, motech, givi, etc). Larger changes planned are comfort/cosmetic - some renthals or super bike bars, bar end mirror swap (I don't like the chrome), maybe a seat if it bugs me, hard luggage (motech mounts and givi bags?), GPS mount, and turn signals. I need to find some good looking running light stock signals from another bike - Ducati?, BMW?, the Kawasaki ninja signals are nice, it I think they are turn signal only.
Long intro, but I am stoked on the bike . It has been a long patient wait.

Cheers

Welcome!

Many moons ago, I met a friend half way between here and there -

I am a huge fan of the ZRX, that being said, when I rode his, I felt like I was taken back in time a couple of decades, not that there is anything wrong with that.

Looking forward to your contributions, and watch out for slick salesman pushing forks and seats.

Thanks steve,
I've seen that photo before. Probably back when I was searching for a zrx or 919 years ago. That zrx is the same model I had - 2000 1100. The one I picked up (for short money) had been modded out- short gearing, pods, pipe, etc. I was slowly getting it back to stock when it was knocked over and totaled. So far, I like the 919 more than the ZRX. I hope this bike fares better in the parking garages.

Colby
