Hello from Colorado...Has naked in Colorado been used already?

Hello all. This forum is the reason I got my 919. I have been following it for about two years but just signed up a few weeks back.

When I was bike shopping I was stuck between a Bandit, SV1000 and a 919. Went with the 919. Glad I did. It is the fourth motorcycle I have owned and the second street bike. All have been Hondas.

I started riding motorcycles when I was 9 but never really did much city/street riding on a street bike. I had a CB750 but I always rode it on back roads in a small town away from traffic just to get around. Needless to say I took the MSF course before going bike shopping.

I got my 919 a little over two years ago. I haven't been riding much over the last year so the bike has been lonely in the garage. When I got it it had 14500 miles on it, Ohlins rear shock, PCIII (the old serial one) Sargent seat, SS brake lines, Suburban Machinery handle bars, Two Brothers single can exhaust and a few other things.

I am a big guy and have never felt the front suspension felt right. Once I finished wearing out what I believe is the original front tire I stopped riding it. A month or so ago I decided either ride it or get rid of it.

Right now I have it semi torn apart in the garage and in the process of getting:
-Race Tech G2-R Gold Valve install with new springs (I will document in case I can help anybody in the future. This upgrade I hope will fix my crap front suspension woes)
-Custom LED integrated rear tail light (Thank all of you for getting Custom LED to produce that thing) to replace the half-ass integrated attempt that was on it when I got it.
-Rizoma Zero 11 front blinkers
-New PR2 front tire
-Renthal Ultra Lows to replace the Suburban Machinery bars that are just way too low....no rise at all.
-Fasst anti-vibration weighted bar inserts that fit the Ultra Lows.
-PAIR block off. (I got the Driven Racing plates before I saw HeliMech had more)
-Valve job
-New NGK irridium spark plugs
-Oil change (I use honda HP4..yes I know how to find the oil topic thread)
-New EBC brake pads all around
-New Power Commander Map

When I got the bike I went through about 4 maps as well as some manual adjusting...have never found a map that I was happy with...thing was always a dog at some point in the RPM range. I think I have most of the maps that are discussed in this forum. Any suggestions accepted.

Still considering:
-Center stand
-Givi crash bars
-That badass Speaker LED headlight

Any input on the considering list appreciated.

Well... I suppose thats enough about my bike. Good to finally be signed up here with you all. If anybody is in the Colorado Springs area, hit me up if there is something going on.

'02 919 PCIII, Two Bros, Sargent, Ohlins, and some other stuff.

Hello and welcome! If you're thinking about a Speaker light, there's a group buy happening right now, we need 1 or 2 more to get the price down.

Hey Qex Welcome to the site!! Nice to have another Springs member. If your not doing anything next Friday (15th) during the day The Shadow and I are doing valve clearance checks on our bikes at my house. You are more then welcome to stop by chat have a beer, watch and learn. This is my first valve clearance check (16K miles) so I'll be learning as we go along too! When we are done we plan on going for a ride. Your bike's setup sounds sweet we would love to see it. Send me a PM for my address if you want to come up.
