hello from Bakersfield, Ca.

Hi all, Wife and i just found this site. We both ride dual sports are are quite familiar with this area. Anyone interested in riding this area? We can show you lots of interesting back roads. We are good with any bikes and are fine with beginners.

I am in Goleta and do know that Bakersfield is a very viable gateway to some of California's Best mountain riding.

Hello and welcome- I lived out that way but a little north of you for about six years. The riding was spectacular!

One of my bikes is a beemer g650gs- OK its my wife's bike but the heated grips will keep me on the roads once it gets cold around here!

Hi, I live in Bear Valley, up the road from the OP. I do not have a dual sport, only the 919, though. If that works, I'd be up for a ride.

Welcome to the site. Nice bikes.

Am in the Los Angeles area, but always up for a ride on the weekends. Same as MF1VE. Only have the 919.

Welcome. Nice bikes and pics. How do you like that 650x country? I was really interested in those for a while when I first started looking for my first bike.

The x-country is interesting. Lots of very useable torque. We bought it used for my wife. Really tall seat height. We bought a custom seat for it and it still sits as high as my KTM. When you sit on it the suspension settles about an inch and a half. Still tall for my wife even with riding boots on. She handles it fine and the ergo's fit her like a glove. We did buy the adjustable pull clutch lever to help with the fine tune. The biggest downfall is the 2 1/2 gallon fuel tank. The plus is it averages 60 plus mpg. If BMW hadnt dropped it from production the aftermarket would have really loved this bike. After we bought it BMW came out with a low seat height G 650 GS. Thats where we will go if the wife ever gets rid of this bike.

Oh and the cat was just going on a quick trip to the vet.
