Hello everyone

Just found this forum and signed up. I've been riding for quite awhile now,it's been about 23yrs. and counting.Mostly sport bikes and dirt bikes but I've owned some other styles as well, even a couple of Harley's ,but I won't talk about that dark period when I thought they were cool.
I went to my local Honda dealer last Aug. to pick up a used 919 that I'd been keeping my on and left with this.

Hello and welcome to WT. Nice bike! Was the 919 gone when you went to get it?

No it was still there. I didn't even know Honda made these CB1000s until I stopped that day. My wife said she liked the look of 1000 better and that I should get that one instead. Well....she didn't have to talk me into it. I still feel guilty about spending twice the money for it though. I still think I would've been more than happy with a 919 and by checking out this forum,it seem quite popular here.

The Yoshi tail tidy,ASV levers,Power Commander V with auto tune and the Rimoza frame sliders. That's about it and I think that's all I'm going to do for now. Just better tires when it's time.

Welcome! Love your bike man. I don't think you made the wrong choice. Will be interested to hear how you like it, I haven't heard much about them.

Word that thing is awesome. I've been eyeing those for a while. I am on the same page as TheBee, I hope to snag one in a few years. They rank up there with the FZ8's, but I know this is a Honda-heavy site... lol

I have never ridden the 1000 to be honest mate so everything I know is hearsay and other riders opinions. I absolutely love my niner, I stepped up from a ninja 250 like PVster on here. For me it's truly an all-round bike. I commute in the city everyday, blast through the twisties on the weekend and have done one long trip. In saying that I'm busting to get on the 1000 and see how it goes. Honestly if I had the extra funds I would have bought your bike no second thought. They are sexy!!! Keep us posted on how you like it!!!

I want your wife.

Nah, just kidding! My Mrs. just picked up a little 599 herself. I was planning on a CB1R a year ago, but couldn't justify the cost over my current 919.

You can have her!! I got the bike. Lol

Thanks for the welcome everyone. It's good to see nakeds get some attention.

My prior bike was a 06 CBR k, and compared to that,I love this bike much better. Way more comfy to ride, easier handling and just as much poke up to about 100/110mph and after that,I don't care. Its really smooth and powerful. Most of the time i just leave it in 3rd gear and im good from about 15 mph to over 100 mph.I bought this as a daily commuter and weekend rider in the country and such. I'm to old to be worried about racing or keeping up with people. I just ride for the fun and mental benefits. This bike does everything I need it to and then some. I'm sure it's probably pretty close to the 919.

I think I like the headlight and gages better on the 919. I like that old school look.

Oh yeah, one other thing I was gonna mention if anyone cares. I had the bike dyno'd two times during and after the PC was put on and the best was 122 hp with 74 a torque reading at the rear tire. The Yoshi 3/4 system and PC added only about 8 hp, but saved 18 lbs.
